From Temporary To Eternal!

“Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely” (John Dalberg-Acton). This quote suggests that a person's foundation of morality deteriorates as his or her quest for power and control increases.
However, the safeguard against a life overwhelmed by the desire for power and control, (even if it is simply to control one’s own destiny), is a life lived in submission. Some grasp this truth to varying degrees, but most will not.
Digging deeper, this desire for absolute control is ultimately a denial that there is an eternal, divine perspective which is greater than a temporary human perspective. And until the human perspective submits to what is eternal it will remain on a course of conquest for power and control. The truth is, our human perspective is flawed and perishable, no matter how desperately we desire it not to be. And even those who embrace this truth are prone to the onslaught of the temporary which constantly beckons for control. This is a spiritual battle and can only be fought on the Spiritual realm by those with Spiritual understanding.
So what's your ability level to truly distinguish what is temporary from what is eternal? Do you have “spiritual understanding”? Are you able to rise above the failing philosophies of the world and move into an understanding of what is imperishable?
As you watch all of the deceit, pain, corruption and upheaval taking place in the world, be careful to not “immerse” yourself in those things. Instead, find your life's foundation and motive for living in that which is eternal. Immersion in the temporary leads to death. But immersion in what is eternal provides a perspective that cannot be infected by the corrupt.
In secular history Jesus is simply a historical personality. But from an eternal perspective, he is infinitely more important than all of the world's greatest achievements combined. What comes from the Natural World will most certainly die. However he who knows Jesus, has conquered death and is born again from the Natural into the Spiritual through Him.
John 3:2-3
This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”...
...John 3:16-18
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."
Yes, power corrupts. But submission to Jesus releases the eternal and unlocks a life of freedom found nowhere else. Further, this submission acknowledges the sovereignty of Jehovah-God and is the only entry-way by which an eternal perspective can be found.
He wants to know: Are you ready to move from the temporary to the eternal?
