Your are NOT alone!

Are you lonely? Do you feel isolated, misunderstood and alienated? Perhaps you are in a “relationship” with someone and still feel alone?

I want to tell you that loneliness is never God’s design or desire for us. It is however one of our enemy’s greatest tools for destruction and manipulation of all mankind. This is a Spiritual principle that directly effects the physical realities of our lives in a way that is profound on every level. It is a simple truth, but like all Spiritual truths, it is only fully perceived by those who are open to what God is saying on a deeper level, (1 Corinthians 2:14).

In warfare it is no secret: If an enemy wants to conquer us, they will first divide us so that our strength in numbers is ineffective against their coming battle offensive. Spiritually speaking, warfare is the same.

Why is the idea of “divide and conquer” so powerful? Because it isolates and creates loneliness which leads to fear and hopelessness. THINK ABOUT IT and look all around life in the world as we know it. The enemy is having a hay-day with humanity as he isolates, (quarantines), divides, scares us with all kinds of physical realities. God does not intend for us to live under this kind of bondage! Bondage equals slavery and Jesus came to set the Captives free. The world is in captivity and doesn’t even know it!

OHHHHH! ….But the THRILL OF HOPE AS A WEARY WORLD REJOICES!!! Read again these words of Christ: “He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” HINT, HINT!...When Jesus speaks of blindness in this passage, he is NOT just referring to physical blindness!! So, back to my first question: Do you feel lonely? Jesus wants you to TRULY know that He desires that you NOT feel lonely... no matter your situation.

The sad reality is that many reject Christ because they believe that becoming a Follower of Christ will lead to a life of loneliness, rejected by the world and overcome by isolation from all that is “desirable” in life. Nothing could be further from the truth and in fact the very opposite is true. We ONLY find what is desirable (fulfilling) in life when we belong to Jesus!

If you think that the life of a Christian is a lonely life… Think Again! And consider these 2 absolute truths…

#1 – When we know Jesus we are never alone. Period! God is always with us, for us and right beside us! For the Christ-Follower, this is not a fantasy god that we've made up in our imagination, though that is exactly what the world would have us believe and have other non-believers, (who look at this picture), to believe. I'm reminded of words from a favorite Hymn, “In the Garden”: "And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own."

***If I am sharing the Gospel with someone who needs Jesus, one of the first principles, I tell them about a life with Christ is that they will NEVER be alone again! Our Heavenly Father is IMPLICIT about this throughout His Word. (i.e. "I will never leave you or forsake you) ... Deuteronomy 31:6-8, 1 Chronicles 28:20, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 1 Kings 8:57, 1 Peter 5:7, 2 Timothy 1:7, Deuteronomy 4:31, Genesis 28:15, Hebrews 4:16, Hebrews 13:5, Joshua 1:5, Matthew 28:20... These are just a few of the MANY MORE!

#2 – When we follow Christ, we are IMMEDIATELY adopted into a brand new family of Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Many people never experience the love of a real family on earth until they find Christ. A “natural” family that does not know Christ is absolutely useless to provide spiritual encouragement, accountability, love and support that is needed in life. But a Follower of Christ who is rightly connected in the Body of Christ – The Church, has ALL of that and more. (Psalm 55:14, Acts 2:42, 1 John 1:7, Hebrews 3:16, 1 John 1:3, Galatians 2:9, Philippians 1:7, Ephesians 5:19… PLUS MANY MORE!)

***I understand that there are some “rotten” Churches out there that do not represent the Body of Christ. BUT there are many Churches that do! This Fellowship is God’s design for the express purpose of Heavenly support right here on earth before we get to Heaven. A Family of Brothers and Sisters in Christ are NOT perfect on earth. But in our common bond that comes through Christ, we can and should ALWAYS love on a deeper and more profound level than anything else found in the world.

If you’ve had a bad experience with “a Church”, DON’T GIVE UP! Keep looking till you find that place of deep love and support from a genuine group of Bible-Believing Christians. Remember too, there’s never going to be a perfect church on earth because there are no perfect people in any church. But when we live a life that makes grace a priority, we can get past the imperfections we find in one another and move into truly divine relationships as God intends!

The Truth is, if we EVER feel lonely in our walk with Christ, it is because we have allowed a carnal emotion to overrule the Heavenly Truth that we are NEVER alone and should NEVER feel alone. Though a relationship with Christ is personal and unique, we should never feel lonely.
