Words of Inheritance

John 1:14 “ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John reveals that The “Word of God” and Jesus Himself are synonymous. In other words as God speaks, when God speaks, it is absolute Truth and Authority. Such was the life of Jesus. He came into the world as absolute truth and authority, not to condemn the world but so that the world through Him might be saved, (John 3:17). He offers in this salvation an inheritance of Life over death for all who call on Him as Savior.  Our inheritance, because we know Christ is Life! Our inheritance therefore is the living Word of God which always represents Truth and Authority. As we claim this truth and authority from God through Christ alone, we must always be careful to walk in that truth instead of a perversion of the truth which the enemy will counterfeit without relent.  God’s Word is full of promises for His pe...

Is Evil Prevailing?

Compared to many other books of the Bible, Habakkuk is a relatively obscure little, (three chapter), book in the Old Testament. But like ALL of God’s Word, it is a powerhouse of truth just waiting for discovery by the faithful who seek insight from the living, breathing truth we find in all of scripture. Habakkuk is actually a book that describes a back and forth conversation between the Prophet and God, written about 600 years before the birth of Christ. In chapters one and two we find Habakkuk asking God the question, “WHY IS EVIL PREVAILING?” Representing the people of Israel, Habakkuk sees the utter chaos, confusion and injustice coming to the people at the hands of the Babylonians. Have you ever asked God the question, “Why is my enemy winning!?” Have you ever looked at circumstances and situations in your life and in the world in general and thought, “why does God not intervene!?!” As Habakkuk questions God, The Lord is faithful to respond. In essence, He let’s H...

Nothing Wasted

When I think of the gratitude that we owe our Men and Women in the armed services, I think first of the decision that each of them had to make in order to be willing to lay down their life for the sake of our freedom as a Nation.  One of the first images that comes to mind is this…  This is a picture of American troops taken on June 6, 1944 as young men faced the jaws of death in a landing craft vehicle approaching a beach at Normandy in France. Just before the allied troops left the shores of England for their journey across the English Channel, our then President, Dwight Eisenhower spoke these words for their hearing. He said: “You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hope and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely. But...
